April 13, 2021 celebrates the 80th anniversary of Ivanova Raisa Borisovna, agrochemist in the field of viticulture!

Raisa Borysivna was born on April 13, 1941 in the city of Odessa in the family of an employee. Her father, Ivanov Boris Fedorovich, died in August 1941 in the battles near Odessa, and the subsequent fate of the little girl Raisa was taken care of by her mother Ivanova Vira Dmitrievna.

Raisa Borysivna graduated from high school in 1958 №103 and entered the same year at the Faculty of Chemistry of Odessa State University named after II Mechnikov, who graduated in 1963 with a degree in «chemist, high school chemistry teacher». While studying at the university, Raisa Borysivna was the editor of the faculty newspaper.

After graduating from the university, she remained there to work first as a senior laboratory assistant, and then as an engineer in the ODU fuel cell laboratory.

From 1964 to 1967 she studied at the graduate school of the Institute of Chemical Physics of the USSR Academy of Sciences, after which and after a short work in scientific positions at the Research Institute of the Moscow region she returned to her hometown of Odessa.

According to the results of postgraduate studies in October 1972, Raisa Borysivna successfully defended her dissertation in the special council of the Odessa Order of the Red Banner of Labor of the State University named after I.I. Mechnikov received the degree of candidate of chemical sciences.

From February 1973 to October 1987 Ivanova Raisa Borisovna held senior positions in scientific departments: of the Odessa Technological Institute of Food Industry named after M.V. Lomonosov, Odessa Hydromelioration Expedition, Odessa Port Plant, Odessa Polytechnic Institute.

On October 14, 1987, Raisa Borysivna’s life and work path was continued as a senior researcher at the Physiology Laboratory at the Research and Production Association for Viticulture and Enology (now NSC «IViV them. V.Ye. Tairov»).

Later, Raisa Borysivna was transferred to a similar position in the Department of Soil Science and Agrochemistry in the laboratory of mass analysis, where she worked until December 31, 2011. It should be mentioned that in a certain period of 2006-2007 Raisa Borysivna held the position of the head of the agrochemistry laboratory of our institution.

With the direct participation of Ivanova R.B. in our institution works on creation of a nutritious substrate on the basis of zeolite for cultivation of landing and clonal material of grapes (Samsonov Anatoly Mikhailovich, Ivanova Raisa Borisovna, Baklanova Lyudmila Vasilevna) were carried out. According to these studies, three copyright certificates and two patents of Ukraine were obtained.

Raisa Borysivna was the first in the history of scientific laboratories of our institution, as a responsible executor, managed to successfully overcome the path to recognition of the laboratory of agrochemistry as meeting the criteria for accreditation of the Odessa State Center for Standardization, Metrology and Certification of State Standard of Ukraine (Accreditation certificate № RО-457/2001 of 3 October 2001). The experience gained during the first accreditation of the laboratory of agrochemistry was later successfully applied by the heads of other laboratories of NSC «IViV them. V.Ye. Tairov».
